What we produce and when it is available in the year

On twelve acres of fenland seven varieties of strawberry are grown in polytunnels and open fields. Fruit is produced from late April through September. Four varieties of raspberry are grown which crop from July to October. There are also blackcurrants, blackberries, gooseberries, redcurrants, rhubarb, apples, pears, plums, cherries, quinces and melons, all grown to strict organic standards.
This means that no chemicals at all are used: pests are kept under control by strict crop rotation and weeding is done mechanically or by hand. The Soil Association inspects the farm each year to make sure the fruit, jam and drinks’ production adheres to organic standards. Fruit, jam cordial and smoothies are sold in Farmers' Markets in Cambridgeshire and London and through organic wholesalers.
